Macadamia Nutshells Anyone?

Designer Marc Harrison has formed those incredible, vibrant Husque bowls by using salvaged hulls of Macadamia nuts.

Those wasted macadamia shells are developed with a polymer to create a jam-packed, flexible element that still includes noticeable speckles of macadamia in the end invention. This produces a wood like foundation of the bowls, which draws a rich distinction with their colored coating.
I sure wouldn't mind using those bowls for my make up and accessories!

Recycled Suitcases For Design

Say hello to China’s very first carbon neutral hotel. The “URBN Hotel” is located in a refurbished warehouse in Shanghai. The aim was to concentrate on how to create an energy efficient space as well as an ecological culture for the visitors and staff. The area displays different recycled materials and when looking at the picture below, you’ll know which ones I’m specifically referring to…suitcases! I love how they’re put together and exhibited. It also emphasizes the function of the building.
It doesn’t end there though; the hotel also has the intention of decreasing the green impact even more by including other sustainable approaches such as solar power.

Pendant Scrap Lights

Those gorgeous pendant lights have been created by Graypants’ from stacked rings of cardboard folded into ridges and troughs. I couldn’t think of a better way to make use of extra cardboard!
