Parisian Apartment

This lavish 2,600 square feet Parisian apartment was designed by Champeau and Wilde, and there is nothing better than merging the old with the new, especially when it is done in such a desirable way.
I appreciate the living room more than anything else; the distinction between the reinstated classical moldings on the wall and the metallic side table is genius, including the gallant wall art in the lobby. I always believe in assimilating at least one piece that is bold and contentious; it adds character.
The kitchen area has been remodelled to convey a refined mid century look; elusive in color and in flair; producing that 30's aura.
Lastly, the bathroom...I. Have. No. Words.

Paul Smith:The New London Flagship Shop

Hello hello to the expansion of Paul Smith's store situated just on Staffaord Street in London Town. And an even bigger hello to the dynamic interior design that is an imppecable setting for the marque!
Firstly, let us appreciate the amount of yellow integrated, if you don't already know, I simply love that color; it adds outright liveliness and soul, especially when it's used as a backdrop for a mixed assortment of wall art. I'm also drawn to the consistency of the sculptures that surrounds the different sections of the store; it conserves a certain flow within the space, which is an essential point that a designer must not neglect.
Another feature that is more than worth mentioning is the creative dominos wall in the women's accessories section. How inventive can one get?
However, what I really did admire about the new shop is the unique exterior made out of cast iron panels that has been explicitly designed according to Smith's very own detailed drawings.
Take a look!

For The Love Of Adler

Post By: Eman Rafay
“I think every creative person, and every craftsperson, should have a naysayer to rebel against.” Jonathan Adler

I’m not quite sure if any of you like me silently fantasize about your dream home, and have the burning desire to include a different and distinct theme running through each room. While I'm not sure what this one room will look like in my dream home, I sure do know how it will feel. This feeling can only be described as surrealism the 20th-century avant-garde movement. My desire for this one room is consumed by a inseparable marriage of dream and reality; defined by a lack of logic, theme and rules; where you need not justify colours, proportions and pattern! At the cost of sounding like a deranged bohemian, allow me to show you.

This one room for me can be best expressed through the repertoire of interior designer, author and foremost potter extraordinaire Mr Jonathan Adler, who’s aesthetics blend beauty and wit into his work of irreverent luxury. While Adler’s creative pursuits come from a rebellious streak to follow his heart. Despite the advice of his teacher who defined Adler’s work as ‘talentless’, he is able to perfectly draw upon his experiences to create a fantastically mismatched space that is truly liveable and often described as happy-chic.

Here is a visual montage of his repertoire, enjoy:

Al-Qurum Residential, Oman by 'n dot interiors'

I am so honored to have been given the opportunity to design the interiors of one of the most endearing people I have come across. It initially started with a large sitting room that only consisted of a three seat sofa and ended with a few rooms full of inventiveness enthused by my client’s sparkling energy.

Tamara Mellon's Renovated Apartment

My very first 'Celebrity Homes' post was on Tamara Melon's NY apartment that was designed by the fabulous Martyn Lawrence Bullard. And I've only just come to find out that she recently had it renovated! I was somewhat nervous to see the new face-lift as I was abosultely enamoured by the former design. Although I have to say that the revamp still oozes the same kind of vitality, this time, in a much lighter sense. Interior designer Michael Adams assimilated beautiful mid century pieces and I especially adore the 'love for eternity' light installtion above the unquestionably, gorgeous Warren Platner dining set. Take a look at the new deal.

Designer Joe Nahem maintained the classical bones of this two-storey house located in Connecticut, ensuring that the transition from the traditional exterior to the lively, modern new interior wouldn't be disconcerting.

Omani Artist: Usama Al Kindy

If you're a regualr reader than you already know my fascination with abstract art, a huge thank you goes out to a client of mine for shedding light to Omani Artist Usama Al Kindy; a discovery that I am positively willing to keep my eyes on. I love his use of vibrant colors, they exude so much inspiring energy and in my opinion, that's the best form of visual language!
Check out my favorites posted below.

DIY: Melted Crayons

Who doesn't love DIY when it's art related? I was in my bedroom when I was desperate for some therapy, I didn't know what it was I wanted, I just knew I had to keep myself occupied and happy! Thankfully I had everything I needed to create this little piece without even having to leave my room. Although, I would recommend that you do this outdoors.
What you need:
- A White Board or Canvas.
- A Hair Dryer.
- A Glue Gun.
- Lastly, Colorful Crayons.

I don't want to give instructions on how you can do it as there are no limits to creativity.

Last night those Bleeding Crayons saved my life.

Deluxe-Industrial

This London warehouse apartment is owned by Fiona Leahy, an event organizer that originates from Dublin. And I undeniably LOVE the interiors as it's somewhat incomparble and full of character that would definitely fall under the 'diverse' style category. I'm currently crushing on neon signs and having the 'Love Forever' sign situated just at the bottom of the kitchen island adds such a beautiful and playful touch to the space.

Celebrity Homes: Keri Russell

I don't know about you but I was a major 'Felicity' fan and that's how I got to know of actress Keri Russell, the show was one of my favorites during high school and I simply adored her gorgeous curls! So thanks to 'Elle Decor' magazine, WE get to have a little tour around her home.
Keri and her husband, Shane Deary have both worked on redesigning the 1860's Brooklyn brownstone into a combination of fresh and vintage feel, generating an impeccable refined space that also exudes comfort. I have to say that I completely respect the minimalism, not all celebrity homes possess that aura.

Barcelona Living

This to me, is the best representation of the old and new. The beautiful intricate outline of El Palauet Living interiors have been restored only to highlight the originality and true age of the space, followed by up-to-the-minute furniture portraying the designer's appreciation for traditional and contemporary art, I have to admit I absolutely admire that! I am also drawn to the constant use of white, it radiates an aura that is fresh, urbane and luxurious.

Shuwa Express, Oman

Proudly presenting to you "Shuwa Express", a restaurant situated in Bareeq Al Shatti, Oman and beautifully designed by Omani Interior Designer Khulood Sultan, her aim was to generate something that has "movement and originality" integrating certain colors and materials that represent the Omani culture, furthermore, to retell history.
Without question, this space exudes opulent innovation, and I love the gold trays placed on the tables against the high chairs wrapped in traditional vivid fabric, I think it creates such a beautiful contrast! I'm now pleased to also share that she's a good friend. Well done, missy!

Inspiration: Arabic Retro Cafe Project

I decided to share some of the inspirational images for the current 'Arabic Retro Cafe' project I'm working on, and guess what? It involves what I love doing the most, yup you guessed it right: DIY stuff. So you can only imagine how much fun I'm having with it! Now I don't want to ruin the surprise, nevertheless, those posted images should give you a little bit of an idea...

GommaPiuma Deco

If this isn't brilliance than I don't know what is. Designer Massimiliano Adami has come up with the idea of repurposing wasted material from the manufacturing fabrication of sofa stuffings, and the pressing of the different colored soft polyurethane until it's properly formed, guarentees that each piece of the GommaPiuma Deco collection is inimitable in its own way.

Black and White Bedrooms

InsideOut just recently posted images of their favorite Black and White bedrooms and I fell in love with each and every one of them, I also included a couple of more images from my 'random interiors' file. I have to say that there's definitely something indisputably urbane about this combination, and the best thing about it is that it can be effortlessly formed in any style you wish. Moreover, adding a personal touch by integrating a different color of your personal choice is most certainly a bonus!

Kyle DeWoody's Eclectic Apartment

Please say HELLO to Kyle DeWoody's modishly assorted appartment in which her objective for dressing herself and her personal space is "cohesion, comfort and a bit of playfulness."
In my opinion, any eclectic space screams 'character' and always makes me believe that the individual has more than one interesting story to tell. I like the way everything has been put together, all her pieces are diverse in style and yet they are perfectly unified. And boy, do I want that chair she's sitting on!

Nada Debs: Concrete Carpet

How ingenious is this Nada Debs carpet? It's manufactured using concrete material and a hint of mother of pearl in 28 panels. Arabic calligraphy in a Japanese flair is engraved on those panels in the form of geometry. The typeface was fashioned in association with with designer Pascal Zoghbi. It's simple yet theatrical, there's really nothing about this piece that I don't love!

Sarah's Baby Shower

My very first attempt at decorating a baby shower was by far the highlight of this month.  The challenge was that it was somewhat of a short notice, however, two whole days of dedication was all I needed, and yes it was draining but overall pleasureable. I absolutely delight in making trips to the stores, picking out items and figuring out what I can do with them after, I also relish DIY stuff and repurposing certain pieces because really, that's what it's all about!
The theme was white, blue and grey and if you're smart enough you can already decipher the color code and know that my best friend's having a baby BOY.

{Hexagon with a 'twist'} by 'n dot interiors'

Introducing to you my very first piece of my own furniture collection: Hexagon with a 'twist'. When I first decided to get into this, I had no idea what it was that I wanted, or what I was drawn to at the time, I just knew I wanted it to be different and most of all creative. After so many rough sketches, I then realized I wanted to incorporate something traditional into something fresh, I also noticed that I was repetetive with geometric shapes and patterns, especially hexagons, therefore I decided to concentrate on that particular shape and work on how to develop my designs further to produce something beautiful.
The Hexganon with a ' twist' can function both as a stool and a side table and can also be available in different colors! I have to admit that this is by far the best piece I have ever designed, I am so happy with it and received many good feedback which only motivates me to move on to the next one.

White and Yellow

White and the color of sunhine: YELLOW. I adore the simplicity of this apartment designed by Samantha Todhunter, especially that rug of geometry (created by Suzanne Sharp) that produces an aura of liveliness! The dining table was custom made using linen together with silver studs to accentuate the piece. Isn't it just lovely?

InstaWATCH by May 28th

If you are an instagram lover then you will definitely appreciate the latest instagram related production designed by May 28th, known as InstaWATCH. You can probably already guess what it does and if not, then I'll tell you! It is a custom made watch that literally uploads any image of your selection (from your feed or camera) onto the face of the watch, how cool is that? They also have different color bands for you to choose from.
I logged into my instagram account, picked out my favorite image and used it as backdrop just to have a feel on what it's all about. Take a look.

Crazy Over: Wallpaper

Yes, wallpaper is the current craze and you will be crazy for it too once you take a look at the outstanding prints and patterns posted below! I am particularly obssessed with the black and gold from the Juju Collection, their inspiration was derived from the African Cameron juju hat, combining both cultural and fresh styles only to produce something bold and beauitful. How about five roles of that please?

Tres Tres WHITE

I believe in color, but I believe in white too. I actually spent the entire weekend at home for the first time in a really long time, indulging in fatty foods and watching movies, and of course it always feels super good at the time, but you then tend to feel a tad sick afterwards that you wish for an opportunity to start over; a "clean slate" or a "fresh start" if you may. And this is exactly what led me to post on white interiors, which I personally think is the essence of a graceful lifestyle.

Alila Villas Soori

If you are ever in desperate need of some relaxtion time then this resort situated in Bali seems like the perfect place to be in! The contemporary villa is quite spacious, however the vivid yet modest features emanate a soothing feel, the kind that makes you feel just like at home, and there is nothing better than that cozy feeling when you are away. This is definitely on my 'Places To Visit' list!

Celebrity Homes: Elie Saab

Simple and Elegant. The two words that instantly came to mind when I first saw the images of fashion designer Elie Saab’s home in Beirut. I love the refined palette, it produces a grand atmosphere in such a stylish way. Almost all the furniture occupying the space is custom made, adding a touch of distinctiveness. My favorite feature would have to be the high ceilings, I've always appreciated homes with staggering heights, they emanate more of deluxe feel. I can't think of how interior designer/architect Chakib Richani could've designed it better. Absolutely stunning! I can definitely see myself living in a home like this.

Rotganzen: Melting Diso Balls

Those stunning melting disco balls are made by Rotganzen, an artist collective based situated in the Netherlands. Consisting of styrofoam and polyurethane foam with a top layer of mirror mosaic pieces, those balls look as though they have been overly utilized and drained from all the motion! However the designers see them as "a figure of overly voluptuous but sagging forms" and their main inspiration came from a human belly,YES you read it right, and I'm referring to the kind that deforms with age. Despite the odd influence it's quite inspiring and the end result is remarkable, I would love to own a few and place them randomly anywhere just for the vivacity and the light that they echo.

Emerald Green

Emerald Green, color of 2013.

"Most often associated with brilliant, precious gemstones, the perception of Emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. Since antiquity, this luminous, magnificent hue has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions. Also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity, no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity."
