A console is definitely a piece of furniture you would want to invest in because it could be the only product in the room that could make a difference. Normally consoles are situated against a wall in a hallway, or in any empty space that is in desperate need to be occupied. And they're more of a decorative piece that don't exactly serve a particular purpose; therefore you can get pretty innovative with the design. Nevertheless, it should also complement the rest of your furniture items.
I'm currently on the hunt for a lavish console and found quite a few that caught my attention.

I also love when they bridge a space in long traditional double parlours or living rooms (then they have to be a little functional though). So no one sees that back of a floating sofa/couch. With art, books, or a flower vase, they remind me of the finishing touches on a space.
ReplyDeleteI'd love that first one in an old mud Omani house (renovated of course) with total modern furnishings through-out. Haven't seen that done yet;).
