DIY: Faux Marble Top

Who doesn't love a good DIY project? I recently bought a mustard yellow desk for my home office and as much as I'm a huge fan of the color yellow, this wasn't exactly the theme I was going for, and that finally gave me an opportunity to use the marble contact paper I had recently purchased. YAY.

The entire process is fairly easy, you just require a lot of patience. Although before I get into it, I want to clarify that the measurements of this particular contact paper didn't quite cover the entire top, however, I'm still happy with the end result because the desk has a little bit of character now! 

How To: Declutter

I know, it's the one thing almost everybody dreads but has to be done every once in a while or else you run out space, or even worse, become a hoarder! I'm actually in the process of decluttering myself and thought to share the very simple 'rules' on how to tackle through the process without feeling constantly overwhelmed.

Ikea Hack: Console Table

Recently, I've been drawn into transforming affordable furniture into personalised pieces. And my very first experiment was with a laptop table that was purchased from IKEA not long ago. I initially wanted a custom console that would fit a certain area in our home, however, I eventually decided against it, mostly because the whole process was going to consume a lot of time, especially since I would have to sketch a design first! And as much as I would have loved to do that, I was running out of patience as that area was desperate to be occupied.

DIY: Marble Mug

I thoroughly enjoyed this project, and that's mainly because it was quick, amazingly easy and gave gorgeous results. 

You will need the following items:

1. A White Mug
2. Nail Polish (any kind will do)
3. Small Tub of Warm Water (preferably one that you don't particularly care for, as it will stain)
4. Toothpick/Skewer

DIY: Abstract Painting

After 6 whole years of not having any contact with a canvas or a paint brush, I am more than happy to share the end result of the abstract painting I worked on recently. And as always, it was exceptionally therapeutic.

I used pearl acrylic paint for the base and a touch of dark grey and gold.

How To: Stuff A Duvet Cover

If there's one thing that frustrates me, it would be making the bed. Mostly because it involves stuffing the duvet cover. It's an exasperating experience every single time. You would think that I would learn to master the art given that I do it on a regular basis, but no. It just gets harder! I would pretty much need to get under the cover like a ghost to spread the duvet in its place to get it right. But it's all worth it in the end, because there's simply nothing better than sleeping in freshly laundered sheets.

How To: Decorate With Books

Yes, you can decorate with books.
Books are not exactly decorative objects, however, they can be of good use when wanting to add color, dimension or even texture to your space. So, if you have plenty of books lying around and you have no clue what to do with them, this post is for you. I've put together a few images that demonstrate innovative ways you can utilise books; even unwanted ones can come in handy, so don't throw away those books just yet!

You can use them as a stand to display your flowers or any home accessory.

How To: Create A Wall Gallery

A gallery wall is a always a great option that can help elevate a room. You can have a mixture of color and texture or go with a simple black and white theme; which is my personal favorite! Just remember that it's important to have at least one element that ties them altogether; and that could either be the subject of the artwork or the color/type of frame that surrounds it. Below you will find different ways that illustrate how a gallery wall can add dynamism to your space. 

DIY: Melted Crayons

Who doesn't love DIY when it's art related? I was in my bedroom when I was desperate for some therapy, I didn't know what it was I wanted, I just knew I had to keep myself occupied and happy! Thankfully I had everything I needed to create this little piece without even having to leave my room. Although, I would recommend that you do this outdoors.

What you need:

- A White Board or Canvas.

- A Hair Dryer.

- A Glue Gun.

- Lastly, Colorful Crayons.

I don't want to give instructions on how you can do it as there are no limits to creativity.

Last night those Bleeding Crayons saved my life.

Sarah's Baby Shower

My very first attempt at decorating a baby shower was by far the highlight of this month.  The challenge was that it was somewhat of a short notice, however, two whole days of dedication was all I needed, and yes it was draining but overall pleasureable. I absolutely delight in making trips to the stores, picking out items and figuring out what I can do with them after, I also relish DIY stuff and repurposing certain pieces because really, that's what it's all about!
The theme was white, blue and grey and if you're smart enough you can already decipher the color code and know that my best friend's having a baby BOY.
